100 YEARS FROM THE FIRST WORLD WAR

BASSANO DEL GRAPPA: where stands the Museum of Alpini with finds of the First World War such as barbed-wire fences, helmets, fragments, bombs and bayonets.

MONTE GRAPPA: where, between 1917 and 1918 soldiers of all armies fighted in just few kilometres of territory; on the top of the mount the Ossario monument built for the victims of the Great War.

CAPORETTO: famous for the events of the First World War and in particular for the defeat and the withdrawal of Italian army.

MUSEUM OF AIR: situated inside Castel of San Pelagio from where the famous Italian poet Gabriele D’Annunzio departed and came back after his “crazy flight over the city of Vienna”.

CASTEL DEL CATAJO: built in the sixteenth century, from where Francesco Ferdinando of Austria departed to go meeting his murdered in Sarajevo.
